Zen4 Server Single Source Project Gallery
Tech Company’s Zen4 Server came equipped with separate Software and Hardware manuals to assist users in various tasks related to their product. Due to the extent of knowledge and information contained within both manuals, our team was tasked with a single sourced project to make finding information within the manuals easier for users.
To accomplish this, our team created an example site that hosts both manuals in an easy to access and read format with the ability to search keywords and tags within each page of the manuals. Over the course of the project, our group categorized and highlighted keywords of each page for the first chapter and appendix of each manual. We took that information and applied it within MadCap Flare. We were able to successfully create a table of contents that connects to each module of the manuals and launch a target HTML site that achieves a proof of concept of what Tech Company was asking for.
Despite a time-zone difference between me and one of our group memebers, as well as another group member departing from the project, we were able to maintain constant communication and a steady workflow that allowed us to complete the project with ease despite the potential setback we faced.
Our completed proof of concept received a high grade for our work and were praised for our excellent teamwork.
